John Njogu
Convener, Afrifueling
Provides strategic leadership, industry coordination, and stakeholder engagement for AfriFueling Expo.
John leads high-level industry engagement, partner coordination, and institutional collaboration across the petroleum retail and fueling ecosystem. Through his role at POAK, he plays a key role in connecting operators, service providers, policymakers, and innovators to shape the future of forecourt transformation in Africa.
Kimemia Mugo
Co-Founder & Non-Executive Director
Brings over 20 years’ experience in events, publishing, and Africa’s energy sector.
Kimemia trained as a journalist and began contributing articles for African Energy, a UK-headquartered consultancy and publisher focused on Africa’s energy landscape, in 2009. He has supported the company’s Africa Investment Exchange (AIX) for the last seven years. He has a deep understanding of the African energy sector, has supported the Petroleum Institute of East Africa in publishing Petroleum Insight Magazine for 16 years, and has travelled extensively across the continent. He co-founded AfriFueling Expo, formerly AFRIPET Convention, in 2018 and remains a key pillar of the event and platform.
Florah Mumbua
General Manager
Leads the commercial and operational strategy behind AfriFueling Expo, driving growth, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Florah leads the commercial and operational execution of AfriFueling Expo, coordinating internal teams while building and managing relationships with sponsors, exhibitors, partners, and industry stakeholders. Her leadership supports smooth event delivery, sustainable growth, and a strong experience for all participants.
Jesse Muniu
Program Director
Leads programme development, coordination, and delivery to ensure a strong and engaging AfriFueling Expo experience.
Jesse oversees the development and coordination of the AfriFueling Expo programme, working across speakers, sessions, partners, and stakeholders to ensure a relevant, well-structured, and impactful event. He supports programme planning, speaker coordination, session delivery, and industry engagement while helping shape the overall delegate experience.
Melissa Gitau
Marketing Executive
Supports marketing campaigns, brand communications, and audience engagement across every stage of the expo.
Melissa coordinates integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen the visibility of AfriFueling Expo across digital and traditional channels. She works closely with partners, exhibitors, delegates, and media to execute promotional initiatives, manage campaign activities, and enhance audience engagement while maintaining a consistent brand presence.
Purity Mwangi
Social Media and Community Engagement
Builds online engagement, community conversations, and digital visibility for the AfriFueling brand.
Purity supports the event’s digital presence through social media storytelling, community engagement, content coordination, and online audience interaction. Her role helps exhibitors, partners, delegates, and stakeholders stay informed, connected, and engaged throughout the AfriFueling Expo journey.
Ernest Lagat
Digital Experience & Platforms Manager
Leads the digital platforms, online delegate experience, and technology systems that power AfriFueling Expo.
Ernest oversees the digital infrastructure behind AfriFueling Expo, ensuring a seamless experience across the event website, registration platform, exhibitor portal, and attendee journey. He drives platform innovation, user experience, system integrations, and digital solutions that support exhibitors, delegates, sponsors, and partners before, during, and after the event.
Kevin Kimatu
Multimedia Creative Specialist
Produces the visual storytelling, photography, video, and creative assets that showcase the AfriFueling experience.
Kevin leads multimedia production across the event, capturing compelling stories through photography, videography, motion graphics, and digital content. His work supports marketing campaigns, social media, exhibitor promotions, and event coverage, helping communicate the innovation and energy of AfriFueling Expo to audiences across Africa.
Clinton Abok
Business Development & Marketing
Builds strategic partnerships while supporting commercial growth and marketing initiatives for the expo.
Clinton works with exhibitors, sponsors, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders to identify new collaboration opportunities and strengthen existing relationships. His role combines business development with marketing support to expand participation, drive sponsorship growth, and create long-term value for the AfriFueling community.
Brian Kiplangat
Young Professionals & Students Outreach Coordinator
Champions engagement with students and emerging professionals to inspire the next generation of energy leaders.
Brian leads outreach initiatives that connect universities, technical institutions, and young professionals with opportunities available through AfriFueling Expo. He coordinates student participation, mentorship programmes, networking activities, and industry engagement, ensuring the event remains an inclusive platform for learning, innovation, and career development.
